Arco dashed toward the monster, every desperate stride produced a blinding echo, she followed every forking path before her, inhabiting every possibility. Mirror reflections raced along the sudden obsidian corridors. Each version of her found the gleaming aperture simultaneously. Countless calloused and bloodied hands gripped its contours and with exponentials of effort they all pulled. It gave and Arco tumbled from the monster's cloak, landing under the impossibly heavy plate. The monster collapsed weightlessly on top of her, disintegrating with a howl above her shielded, cowering form.
